Magic Johnson is the archetype if you're training someone on how to play the PG position. Steph may go down as the best player to play in that position, but he's far from being the best at ideally playing it (I'd put CP3, Nash and Stockton ahead of him in that regards as well).

traditional positions are antiquated. best way to look at now is Small Guys, wings, and bigs. Playmaking, traditionally done by the smallest person in the lineup, is now done across all positions, sorta starting with Magic. Magic and Bron are wings. Steph is a small.
